Cisco Collaborates with NVIDIA to Harness

ANAHEIM, Calif., Oct. 25, 2023 /PRNewswire/ — Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO) today unveiled the next milestone of its ongoing work with NVIDIA to deliver AI-powered meetings for hybrid workers. Cisco announced the launch of Room Kit EQX and the expansion of its Cinematic Meetings capabilities — both powered by NVIDIA’s AI engine — with the goal of enhancing collaboration experiences with audio and video intelligence and enabling more equitable hybrid meetings. The Room Kit EQX is a new, integrated collaboration solution that allows customers to deploy beautiful, future-of-meeting rooms simply and consistently across sites. “In order for people to want to come to the office, companies must fundamentally reimagine and reconfigure workspaces to provide seamless and immersive collaboration experience,” said Jeetu Patel, Executive Vice President and General Manager, Cisco Security and Collaboration. “Our collaboration with NVIDIA helps make this possible as we expand our portfolio of AI-powered solutions that unlock the potential of hybrid workers.” The integration of video devices supporting AI and machine learning is critical to ensuring the longevity of investments made to deliver hybrid work experiences. The tight integration of Cisco’s world-class hardware, leading conference room operating system, RoomOS, and NVIDIA’s AI capabilities allows Cisco to deliver the industry’s most capable AI and machine learning platform— enabling 20x the AI capabilities of previous generations. “Edge AI is playing a vital role in bringing autonomy and improving productivity across many industries,” said Deepu Talla, Vice President of Embedded and Edge Computing, NVIDIA. “Cisco and NVIDIA have been pioneering the use of AI to enhance collaboration in the workplace, and the new line of products will bring transformative technology to this space.” Room Kit EQX = Beautiful, Future-of-Meeting Rooms Cisco has reimagined its portfolio of devices with NVIDIA AI modules, featuring solutions for any cost point and workspace. The highest priority for many customers is refreshing medium to large spaces, which are often flagship rooms for high-stakes meetings. Up until now, video-enabling these spaces has been complex, requiring integrators to stitch together multiple audio, video and furniture components, and requiring a specialist on-site to deploy. The Room Kit EQX is a new, integrated collaboration solution that allows customers to deploy beautiful, future-of-meeting rooms simply and consistently across sites. Benefits for hybrid workers include: Simplified deployment and maintenance: Customers benefit from flexible mounting options, including wall-mounted or free-standing, in some cases eliminating the need for permits and added building costs. This device also eliminates the need for patchwork speaker solutions, mounting options and furniture enclosures, reducing both time and cost to deploy flagship spaces. Advanced audiovisual capabilities: Leveraging the NVIDIA Jetson edge AI platform to power advanced camera, audio and speech intelligence, the EQX reduces the feeling of distance between in-person and remote participants. Interoperability across platforms: On RoomOS mode, the EQX features native Webex Meetings and powerful video interoperability with third-party meeting platforms. The EQX also natively supports Microsoft Teams Rooms augmented with the full-featured Webex Meetings. Unified management and security: IT admins can take advantage of device management and workspace analytics capabilities in Cisco Control Hub. The Room Kit EQX is available now. Please see here for more information. Cinematic Meetings through Distance Zero With an increasingly digitized and globalized workforce, meetings where everyone is physically present are no longer the norm. Cisco’s Cinematic Meetings capabilities leverage an NVIDIA Jetson system-on-module to deliver collaboration experiences that reduce the impact of distance and make all meeting attendees feel like they’re in the room, even if they aren’t, a concept Cisco is calling Distance Zero. To create more equitable and inclusive meeting experiences for all meeting attendees, Cisco is bringing Distance Zero experiences to new workspaces and use cases: New immersive workspace setups: Cisco is unveiling the blueprint for an all-new campfire-like boardroom experience. At the center of the configuration are four quad cameras and screens at eye-level, all configured in a circular arrangement to provide an immersive view of the content and remote participants. To ensure an equitable and inclusive experience, this setup creates the feeling of face-to-face collaboration for remote and in-person attendees alike. Hybrid presentations: Customers can now experience cinematic meetings in auditorium and training style rooms. Cisco devices seamlessly switch cameras and views to provide remote participants with the best view of speakers, their content and close-up audience reactions. And in a new hybrid presenter mode, a remote and an in-room speaker can easily take the stage together for virtually in-person hybrid presentations. These solutions are generally available. Please see here for more information. Continued Collaboration Between Cisco and NVIDIA Cisco and NVIDIA have worked together since 2015— years ahead of today’s AI boom— to create various industry-leading devices that address some of the biggest challenges of workplace collaboration including meeting equity and video fatigue. We look forward to continued efforts to empower today’s flexible workforce with innovative AI-powered solutions for seamless collaboration. The world of fashion is undergoing a profound revolution, driven by new technologies, the escalating call for sustainable industries, and the transformative influence of migratory flows. In this dynamic landscape, brands and influencers are compelled to reshape fashion concepts to align with these powerful forces. Delve into the following paragraphs to explore the key aspects propelling this transformative journey. We all know that new technologies are reshaping every aspect of the fashion industry, from design and production to marketing and distribution. The rise of e-commerce and social media has transformed the way consumers discover and purchase clothing, enabling direct interactions between brands and customers. Virtual reality and augmented reality are offering immersive shopping experiences, allowing consumers to virtually try on clothes before buying. Furthermore, advanced manufacturing techniques like 3D printing are pushing the boundaries of design, enabling customization, reducing waste, and fostering innovation. The demand for more sustainable industries is forcing the fashion sector to reevaluate its practices. Consumers are increasingly conscious of the environmental and ethical implications of their choices. As a result, fashion brands are adopting eco-friendly materials, implementing circular economy models, and focusing on reducing their carbon footprint. Sustainable fashion is no longer just a trend but a necessity to ensure the industry’s longevity and minimize its environmental impact. It is also necessary to consider that the influence of migratory flows is adding diversity and cross-cultural perspectives to the fashion landscape. Migrants and their cultures are contributing to a fusion of styles, traditions, and influences. This rich tapestry of diversity is inspiring designers to create more inclusive and globally resonant collections. Migratory flows are also impacting supply chains, as fashion brands strive to ensure fair labor practices and uphold human rights in their production processes. In the end, the confluence of new technologies, sustainability, and migratory flows is reshaping the whole world of fashion. The industry is undergoing a transformation driven by innovation, environmental responsibility, and inclusivity. As we navigate this evolving landscape, fashion is becoming a powerful platform for expressing individuality, embracing change, and reflecting the multifaceted nature of our interconnected world.

When I Grow up, I want to be… A creative!

Lucas Ribeiro and Alexandre Kazuo, Associate Creative Directors at McCann New York, launched their book “Princípio. 128 princípios para quem quer se tornar um criativo em agência de publicidade. (Principle. 128 Principles for Those Who Want to Become a Creative in an Advertising Agency).” Geared toward advertising students, the work aims to address the fears of those who are just starting out in an agency. The foreword is written by Andrea Siqueira, ECD of FCB Chicago, and the person responsible for bringing the duo together. The introduction letter is from André Kassu, partner and CCO of CP+B, the last agency where the creatives worked in Brazil. “Throughout these years of our careers, we’ve interviewed, led, advised, and taught many young individuals. We’ve noticed that many doubts are common to all. That’s where the idea of gathering all our tips, philosophies, and advice to help beginners came from,” notes Kazuo. “The beginning is challenging because that’s where doubts, insecurities, and fears reside. However, this phase is also important because it holds numerous possibilities that only a blank page (or a Photoshop file) can offer,” reflects Ribeiro. The book will be available for purchase in print version on various marketplaces and bookstores across Brazil, and will also have a digital version on Kindle. In addition, the duo also distributed around 100 units for the social projects Escola Rua and Projeto Soma, in Brazil. Source: Lucas Ribeiro and Alex Kazuo

Who Takes The Cake?

Who Takes The Cake

According to the LinkedIn Talent Blog, the jobs with the fastest-growing demand are culinary roles alongside AI and R&D engineers. And who would have thought that in the middle of the digital age, we could find a job more easily if we could make a Richelieu cake instead of knowing why to use the passive voice in a sentence? Oh, Pythagoras’s theorem? In a shocking twist of fate, it appears that the hottest job opportunities of the future have been revealed: culinary roles are racing neck and neck with AI and R&D engineers for the title of the “Fastest Growing Demand.” Yes, you read that right—chefs, cooks, and bakers are now sharing the limelight with those high-tech geniuses who create robots and develop groundbreaking innovations. Gone are the days when society imagined a dystopian future dominated by robots, where our dinners were cooked by emotionless AI sous chefs while we marveled at machines designing flying cars. No, it seems the future will be a rather peculiar blend of high-tech innovation and gourmet gastronomy. In the brave new world, AI engineers will meticulously craft algorithms that decipher the perfect ratio of salt to sugar in a delicate soufflé. R&D whizzes, who once toiled away at designing space-age gadgets, will now be focused on perfecting the art of tempering chocolate just right for that mouthwatering truffle. As for those culinary prodigies, well, they’ll find themselves rubbing elbows with AI in the kitchen. Imagine an AI-powered blender giving you pep talks as you create that exquisite béarnaise sauce—because who needs Gordon Ramsay’s fiery critiques when you’ve got a robot offering motivational speeches? And let’s not forget the groundbreaking fusion dishes that will surely emerge from this oddball alliance. How about a dish where nanobots marinate your steak with molecular precision, while a holographic chef performs a dance routine to entertain your taste buds? It’s the convergence of the culinary and the computational in a delightful symphony of flavors and bytes. So there you have it, folks. The future job market is as unpredictable as a recipe gone wrong. Culinary artists, AI fans, and R&D pioneers are set to form a new dream team that will redefine the way we eat, work, and interact with technology. Who knew that the path to success would involve both mastering the art of flambé and debugging lines of code? It’s a future so utterly deliciously perplexing that even the most sophisticated AI couldn’t have predicted it.

Search Engine Optimization and Online Marketing

Search Engine Optimization and Online Marketing

In the world of modern marketing, Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has emerged as a fundamental pillar. It plays a critical role in shaping the online visibility and success of businesses. As consumers increasingly turn to search engines like Google to find products, services, and information, the significance of SEO cannot be overstated. SEO acts as a bridge that connects businesses with their target audience. It involves a strategic approach to optimize a website’s content, structure, and elements in a way that aligns with search engine algorithms. This optimization elevates a website’s ranking on search engine results pages (SERPs), making it more likely to be discovered by potential customers. The impact of a high search engine ranking is profound. When a website appears among the top search results, it gains a perception of credibility and trustworthiness. Users tend to trust search engines, and being prominently featured implies that the website is reputable and relevant to their queries. Furthermore, SEO is not just about visibility; it’s about attracting the right kind of traffic. By targeting specific keywords and optimizing content, SEO directs users who are actively seeking relevant information or solutions. This results in higher-quality leads and conversions. In a competitive digital landscape, where numerous businesses are vying for attention, having a solid SEO strategy is a game-changer. It gives a company a competitive edge by securing a larger share of online visibility and customer attention. Businesses that neglect SEO risk being overshadowed by competitors who have invested in optimizing their online presence. Moreover, SEO is a dynamic field that adapts to the ever-evolving landscape of search engines and user behavior. This adaptability is crucial for staying relevant and maintaining a competitive position in the market. A professional SEO service keeps pace with these changes, ensuring that a company’s online strategy remains effective and up-to-date. In summary, SEO is not just a technical aspect of marketing; it’s a strategic imperative. It enhances a company’s online presence, credibility, and competitiveness. In an era where digital interactions shape consumer decisions, investing in effective SEO is not an option but a necessity for businesses aiming to thrive in the digital realm.

Space, the Final Frontier

star HD 45166

A group of researchers has pinpointed an extremely rare star with the potential to transform into a magnetar, which stands as the most magnetically powerful entity in the observable Universe. A newly discovered star, HD 45166, holds unique significance as it is likely to evolve into a magnetar, the strongest known magnet in the Universe. This discovery has been made possible through the collaboration of researchers employing telescopes worldwide, including European Southern Observatory (ESO) facilities.  Magnetars are a type of neutron star, which are incredibly dense remnants of massive stars that have undergone a supernova explosion. Neutron stars are composed primarily of neutrons, and they pack an immense amount of mass into a relatively small volume. Magnetars, however, are characterized by having an extraordinarily strong magnetic field, far more powerful than that of typical neutron stars. HD 45166 is categorized as a massive magnetic helium star and its unusual properties offer insights into the origins of magnetars. The star’s enigmatic nature and its magnetic characteristics have captured the attention of scientists, reshaping their understanding of this cosmic object.  The star’s powerful magnetic field, measuring 43,000 gauss, is almost 100,000 times stronger than Earth’s magnetic field. This revelation offers clues about the formation of magnetars, which are compact dead stars with immensely powerful magnetic fields. As HD 45166 eventually transforms into a magnetar, its magnetic field will intensify further. Additionally, the research indicates that HD 45166 has a smaller mass than previously thought and was formed through the merger of two smaller helium-rich stars.  This discovery fundamentally alters our comprehension of HD 45166’s nature and characteristics. Invisible Danger: Your Essential Services Are Under Attack

Services Are Under Attack

In an increasingly interconnected world, the convenience and efficiency of essential services have become integral to our daily lives. From electricity and water supply to healthcare and transportation systems, these services form the backbone of modern society. However, there’s an invisible threat looming over them – the ever-growing risk of cyberattacks. As we rely more heavily on technology to deliver these services, the potential for disruption and chaos becomes a very real concern. It’s time to shed light on this looming danger and explore how cybersecurity companies are our safeguard against these threats. Essential services, once mostly reliant on manual operations, are now heavily digitized and interconnected. This connectivity offers unprecedented convenience and efficiency but also opens the door to malicious actors seeking to exploit vulnerabilities. Cyberattacks can disrupt power grids, compromise medical records, cripple transportation systems, and more. The recent surge in high-profile cyber incidents has demonstrated that no sector is immune, and the consequences can be devastating. Imagine a city suddenly plunged into darkness due to a cyberattack targeting its power grid. Hospitals struggle to maintain life-saving operations, transportation grinds to a halt, and communication systems falter. The interconnectedness of essential services amplifies the ripple effects of such attacks. Hospitals depend on electricity, which in turn relies on fuel distribution and communication networks. This domino effect showcases the intricate web of dependencies we often overlook. The battle against cyber threats is fought on many fronts, with cybersecurity companies at the forefront. These specialized firms dedicate themselves to staying one step ahead of cybercriminals. They develop sophisticated tools, strategies, and technologies to protect critical infrastructure and essential services from attacks. One of the key ways cybersecurity companies combat threats is through innovation. They develop advanced threat detection systems that can identify abnormal activities in real time, allowing for swift intervention. Machine learning and artificial intelligence play a crucial role in identifying patterns and anomalies that might otherwise go unnoticed. The battle against cyber threats is a collective effort. Governments, private sector entities, and cybersecurity firms collaborate to create a resilient defense. Sharing threat intelligence, conducting regular security assessments, and implementing best practices are vital to maintaining the integrity of essential services. In an ever-evolving digital landscape, it’s not a question of if but when the next cyberattack will occur. As essential services continue to rely on technology, the importance of cybersecurity cannot be overstated. Cybersecurity companies stand as sentinels, tirelessly working to thwart threats, protect our way of life, and ensure that essential services remain operational even in the face of malicious intent. In this ongoing battle between security and threat, the unseen heroes are the cybersecurity experts, dedicated to keeping our vital services up and running. As our dependence on technology grows, so too does the significance of their role, ensuring that the invisible danger remains just that – invisible – and that our essential services continue to serve and protect us.
